The Galini-Limnionas is a family-run business so I'd like to introduce you to our family…

In the centre is Dimitrios (that's me!). I own the Galini-Limnionas and am the head chef

I am assisted in the kitchen by Malamatina (my mother) who brings many years of experience of cooking with my uncle here at the restaurant…

and my sister Vasiliki who, when not working as a lab assistant, helps us by waiting on tables, cleaning the apartments, washing up and making her delicious walnut cake!

If you've been to Limnionas before and have visited us already, then you may have seen my uncle Stamates working in the kitchen and running the restaurant. He kindly ran the Galinii-Limnionas with my mother after my father died and whilst I was growing up. Stamates has now retired after many years of working hard in the restaurant and I'm now responsible for the restaurant and apartments.

We have been working in Limnionas for many years and were one of the very first restaurants here before the village became a popular tourist destination. As a result, we are not only popular with those who visit us on holiday but with many of the locals from the village and surrounding areas… we are often the venue for parties following a baptism or a birthday!

We have always used traditional cookery to produce the dishes on the menu and will always do so - although you will see modern equipment in the kitchen, we maintain the tradition of cooking with our fournos and over hot charcoals. For more details on our restaurant, click here.
